Wellbeing
At our school, student wellbeing and learning go hand in hand. We want every student to feel safe, included and ready to learn. Whether your child needs help with their mental, emotional, social or physical wellbeing, we are here to help them thrive at school and in daily life.
How we support student wellbeing
Supporting each student’s mental, emotional, social and physical wellbeing is part of everyday school life.
We do this through:
- teachers who help students feel welcome and included
- access to school counsellors, school psychologists and specialist staff
- programs that support health, social skills, attendance and positive behaviour
- help for students who are new or changing year levels
- clear expectations for behaviour and respectful relationships
- staff who get to know each child and work closely with families
- developing health care plans for students
- open communication about wellbeing and support.

Wellbeing programs at Coleambally Central School
At Coleambally Central School we run the following wellbeing programs:
The Resilience Project
The resilience Project is a school-based initiative that teaches students practical strategies to build mental health, emotional strength, and overall well-being. Through evidence-based programs and activities, it helps students develop gratitude, empathy, and resilience to navigate challenges both inside and outside the classroom.
Wellio
Wellio is a platform dedicated to enhancing student wellness and learning environments. It provides tools, programs, and spaces that support mental health, physical activity, and collaborative learning, helping schools create healthier, more engaging, and productive environments for students and staff alike.
Seasons for Growth
Seasons for growth is a peer support program that helps students cope with change, loss, and grief. Through guided activities and discussions, it teaches resilience, emotional awareness, and coping strategies, empowering students to navigate life’s challenges with confidence and support.
Raise Digital
Raise digital is a youth mentoring program that supports students’ personal growth, resilience, and goal-setting through guided digital mentorship. It connects students with trained mentors who provide guidance, encouragement, and practical strategies, helping young people thrive both academically and personally in a safe, supportive environment.
Got It!
Got It! is an early intervention program for Kindergarten to Year 2 students, supported by the NSW Ministry of Health and the NSW Department of Education. It helps children and their families manage social, emotional, and behavioural challenges through fun, supportive activities, improving wellbeing, family relationships, and school engagement.
School Behaviour Support and Management Plan (SBSMP)
What is the School Behaviour Support and Management Plan (SBSMP)?
At Coleambally Central School, we are committed to creating a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment for all students. As part of the NSW Department of Education’s Student Behaviour Policy, all schools are required to develop and implement a School Behaviour Support and Management Plan (SBSMP) by Term 1, 2025.
The SBSMP outlines our whole-school approach to supporting student behaviour.
Our plan is tailored to meet the needs of our students and is aligned with the principles of Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL). Other key approaches we prioritise include:
- Restorative Practice
- Berry Street Education Model
- Wellbeing Hub
- VI/SI
We will review the SBSMP annually to ensure it remains effective and relevant, using feedback from students, families, staff, and school data.
